Shelley Lane is recognised as a global stylist, colourist and Avant-Garde Hair Artist with an incredible portfolio of work that is regularly showcased in magazines worldwide. She’s an international educator and influencer who’s worked on London Men’s Fashion Week and Paris Fashion week. Since 2015, Shelley has traveled around the world inspiring and educating hairdressers across Europe, Canada, America and Australia. She firmly believes that continuously developing skills as a stylist is key to standing out in a competitive industry.
Shelley’s collections are inspired by her love of mother nature, couture and alternative fashion. She combines an ethereal feel, with bohemian and vintage glamour to form her own unique hair art that has been presented on stages around the world.
Alongside Shelley’s education and collections, she owns her well established salon in her local village, Aberkenfig, which she opened in 2005. Shelley’s diverse hair career - her drive for creating unique hair concepts, along with her love for her local community - got her noticed by the BBC. A film crew spent 8 months following Shelley as she created new collections and travelled across Europe to film The Extreme Hairdresser which is available on BBC iPlayer.
Shelley is a highly commended stylist, and has received numerous awards and recognitions from both her individual work and her salon. Some of the achievements she is most proud of is being named as a Finalist in the Avant-Garde category at the HJ British Hairdresser Awards in 2018, 2021 and 2022, as well as a Finalist in the Avant-Garde category at the Visionary Awards at the Alternative Hair Show in five times.
